Shakespear Regional Park, Whangaparaoa

Shakespear has beautiful beaches, walking tracks and wildlife. A great location for a family day out.

Shakespear Regional Park has both short and long walking tracks to suit all ages. Walking tracks go through native bush, wetlands, beaches and farmland. Many of the tracks provide fantastic views of the Hauraki Gulf including views of Tiritiri Matangi and Auckland City.

In the warmer months make sure you pack your togs and go for a swim at one of the park's three beaches – Arm Bay, Te Haruhi and Okoromai Bay. All beaches have toilet and changing room facilities.

There are plenty of opportunities to see wildlife. Shakespear Park is an open sanctuary with many native birds to see such as kereru, tui, dotterel, oyster catchers, white faced herons and bellbirds. The park is also a working farm with sheep and cattle.
