Custard is a quick and easy dessert. It's delicious poured over fresh or canned fruit and sprinkled with coconut.
  • 2 tablespoons custard powder
  • 2 cups low-fat milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  1. 1. Mix custard powder and 1/4 cup of milk together in a jug until smooth (no lumps).
  2. 2. Pour custard powder mix, remaining milk, sugar and vanilla into a small pot. Stir well to mix.
  3. 3. Heat at a medium temperature, stirring often, until it comes to the boil.
  4. 4. Simmer for one minute or until thickened, then remove from the heat.
